about

released at URUBU tapes, Portugal.

A new installment in the “mineral drift” that secretly animates Urubu Tapes’ output*, “Pyrites” is an immersive experience in minute and sparkly sounds, combined by chance to provoke high-intensity joy and pleasant disorientation. Created with children’s toys, synths, drums and other sound-generating objects, “Pyrites” oscillates between moments of sonic chaos and entrancing radiance.

The haphazard nature of the sound will be familiar to listeners of Arma Agharta and Seht Zahn, who together form Šiamšu. The Lithuanian musician and performer Arma Agharta works on the reenchantment of noise through his multifarious stage personas and unpredictable sound sets, while Seht Zahn (Brazil) explores the maze of analogue synths in his solo works. Their collaboration has a flair of cosmic adventure and glitch. “Pyrites” is an invitation to wander through the mine caves of the mind.
